Sam Hayes died tragically on 10th September 2013. Sam didn’t have a chance to make his mark on the world in the way he wanted. He was a lovely, warm and caring person with an endearing smile. In Malawi there is a traditional custom that when a baby is born you can pledge to support that baby through their education with clothing etc. and you have the honour of naming the baby. This doesn’t mean the baby has changed mothers but they will have been given the opportunity to grow and prosper. Sam’s friends and family will follow this tradition and make Sam’s Village his self-sustaining legacy which will bring a smile to the faces of many.
